About Me

I'm Mikyla , the owner of Golden Zen Design. In 1999, I developed stress and anxiety symptoms. Like most people, the medical providers covered by my insurance didn't offer any real stress relief alternatives except drugs. while, this can be helpful. I wanted more. It seemed there had to be natural alternative's for stress management.

During that experience, I did a lot of reading and made a lot of observations about stress and anxiety management, and the way people react to it in themselves and others. I noticed that people don't like talking about their stress/anxiety because culturally perhaps we're not well prepared to respond to each other supportively.

When I admitted to having anxiety, I would usually get a light pat on the shoulder and a quiet “How are you doing?” It felt as if my friends thought I was delicate and thought something was wrong with me. But nothing could be further from the truth—I am a strong woman and have proven it by enduring my share of difficulties. Yet this response turns out to be quite typical. The friends I reached out to, bless their hearts, just weren't raised to know how to offer support in our stressful world. We just aren't born with this knowledge.

This is why Golden Zen Design was created ! I want to make a community of people that can share and help each other. A group of people that can understand how the other feels and can share stories of how they have over come difficult situation.

I understand when people suffering stress & anxiety symptoms feel hesitant to reach out to friends for support, and want to find natural stress management method they can practice privately on their own when symptoms arise.
